You’ve read about why magnesium and lavender are key components of our b. sleepy and b. chill products, and now it’s time to learn about why we’ve included adaptogens. Turmeric, to be specific.
Whoa, back up. What is an adaptogen? Adaptogens are found in herbs and fungi and help your body regulate hormones as well as regulate your immune system. Essentially, they help your body handle stress.
So where does Turmeric come in? (and what is it again?) Well, if you’re a Londoner like us Dishoom addicts over here at b. Products, you’ll recognise turmeric as the spice in curry that makes it yellow. Turmeric has an active ingredient called curcumin, and that is what makes this adaptogen so special.
Curcumin has been scientifically proven to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it a powerful tool in fighting symptoms that can lead to heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimers. Curcumin can aid in brain and neurological function as well, and has also been linked to arthritis relief.
It can be difficult to absorb enough curcumin through table spices, which is why taking a strong supplement is important. We’ve paired this adaptogen with CBD as CBD also has powerful anti-inflammation properties, and with their powers combined, you’ll feel right as rain after a good night’s sleep. (As always, consult your doctor if you are facing any of the above medical conditions or symptoms). For more information, check out this article, and b. better.
